The Education Account Executive's focus is to meet the goals and initiatives of the clients within this market segment.  This includes providing solutions to educational institutions supporting 1 to 1 initiatives, developing 21st century teaching methods using innovative interactive SMART Technology boards and projectors, managed print/copy services, managed network services, and related software solutions.   Our goal is to become the single source for all technology requirements and partake in the strategic planning and development for educational institutions.

 

This territory encompasses the Greater Minneapolis/St. Paul area and consists of an active client base plus net new business development.

 

  • Contact prospects in the K-12 education market via telephone, cold call and email
  • Attend and deliver product presentations at events and trade shows
  • Maintain sustained sales activities; phone calls, marketing letters, appointments, assessments, proposals and database updates (Soaring)
  • Develop complex proposals including detailed floor plans, documented activity levels (Excel), costs analyses (Excel) and proposed solutions (PowerPoint)
  • Meet or exceeds revenue expectations
  • Demo products and prepare lesson plans at customer or internal sites
  • Prepare daily/weekly action plans to insure focused activity
  • Keep abreast of changes in technology, and possess an understanding of basic user abilities to propose solutions
  • Assess classroom needs and activities, recommending the appropriate technology solution
  • Increase services within current customer base 
  • Create net new opportunities through our value-add programs
  • Participate in education and government-sponsored events to build multi-layers of communications 
  • Share vision statement to help MOTG continue to be the number one solution in this segment
  • Assist in writing grants and proposals to help gain funding for the institution

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • BS/BA degree in business or other related field
  • Previous business-to-business sales experience preferred
  • Previous experience in the education field is preferred

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • English (reading, writing, verbal)

 

MATH SKILLS

  • Basic business math
